24-Hour Electrical Services Available in Botany

Bucks Electrical is based nearby in Chifley, so Botany is familiar territory rather than a cross-city expedition across Sydney. When something goes wrong after hours, an emergency electrician can respond to urgent faults and help you work out what needs to happen next.

Tell us what you can see, hear or smell and an after-hours electrician will talk you through immediate precautions and any simple checks that are safe to try. If the problem needs hands-on attention, our response team can attend with the equipment needed to diagnose the fault properly.

Call our emergency electrician if you notice:

  • A burning smell from a switch, outlet or appliance
  • Sparking or smoking power points
  • Safety switches that repeatedly trip
  • A buzzing, hot or crackling switchboard
  • Exposed, loose or damaged wiring
  • Water close to powered fittings or equipment
  • Lights that flicker across several rooms
  • Electric shocks or tingling from taps or appliances
  • Storm damage affecting wiring or fittings

Not sure if it actually counts as an emergency? Call Bucks Electrical and tell us what is happening. An emergency electrician will help you judge the risk, explain sensible precautions and let you know whether an electrician needs to attend straight away.

We Are Trusted Residential and Commercial Electricians in Botany

Botany has a bit of everything from established homes, newer townhouses and apartments, shops along Botany Road, and busy industrial and commercial sites close to residential streets. That variety means electrical work is rarely one-size-fits-all, and our experienced Eastern Suburbs electricians know how to handle different properties without overcomplicating the job.

For homeowners, we handle switchboard upgrades, power points, lighting, ceiling fans, smoke alarms, rewiring, EV chargers, fault finding and repairs. For shops, offices, warehouses and other businesses, our commercial electricians provide new circuits, lighting upgrades, maintenance, data cabling, fit-outs and power fault repairs.

With Botany combining older homes and active commercial areas, it helps to have electricians comfortable working across both. From a tripping circuit at home to a workplace power fault, we arrive prepared, explain the issue and get on with the job.

Clear communication, tidy workmanship and respect for your time are how Bucks Electrical works across Botany and wider Sydney.

Electrical Services in Botany

Bucks Electrical works with homeowners and businesses throughout Botany, completing work with safety, compliance and solid workmanship at the centre of the job. Our licensed team follows applicable Australian Standards and NSW requirements, and where required we provide a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work so you have documentation for the completed installation or repair.

Switchboard Icon

Switchboard Upgrades

Older switchboards were never designed for the number of appliances found in a modern Sydney home. A licensed electrician can replace outdated boards, add safety switches, improve circuit protection and complete the upgrade with future loads in mind. For Botany properties with ageing equipment or renovations underway, a properly planned switchboard gives the rest of the home a stronger foundation.

Decorative Lightning Icon

LED Lighting Upgrades

Better lighting can change a room without making the power bill the star of the show. Our electricians can design and install LED downlights, task lighting, outdoor lights and feature fittings for Botany homes and businesses. We look at how each space is used, then carry out the electrical installation so the result feels practical rather than overdone.

renovation icon

Renovations and Extensions

Renovating a cottage, updating a townhouse or adding more room to a Botany property? Our renovation electrician can take care of new circuits, rewiring, power points, lighting, appliance connections and other wiring work as the build progresses. Good planning early helps keep the finished power layout useful once the furniture, appliances and everyday life move back in.

Hazard Icon

Electrical Fault
Finding and Repairs

When lights flicker, breakers trip or a section of the property loses power, guessing usually wastes time. A fault-finding electrician can test the system, isolate the cause and repair damaged wiring, overloaded circuits, loose connections or faulty equipment. That means a Botany home or business gets a proper fix instead of another temporary reset.

Running Fan Icon

Ceiling Fan
Installations

A ceiling fan earns its keep when Sydney turns warm and sticky. Bucks qualified electricians can install new fans, replace tired units, wire remote receivers and check the mounting point before everything is put into service. For Botany bedrooms, living areas and covered outdoor spaces across this part of Sydney, the electrical setup is completed for steady, reliable operation.

Repairing Tool Icon

Electrical
Repairs

Loose outlet, dead light, faulty switch or an appliance circuit that has stopped behaving? A local electrician can handle everyday electrical repairs without making the job more complicated than it needs to be. We diagnose the issue, explain the electrical repair clearly and get your Botany property back to normal with tidy workmanship.

Home Electricity Icon

Home Security Installation

Security should make life easier, not give you another confusing system to babysit. An electrician can install cameras, sensors, security lighting and suitable power or data connections around your Botany property. The electrical side is planned around entrances, driveways and other useful coverage points so the setup works for the way the property is actually used.

Corroded Wiring icon

House Rewiring

Ageing cabling can become unreliable and may not suit the electrical demand of modern appliances. An experienced electrician can rewire part or all of a Botany home, replace old circuits and improve the electrical layout during renovations or major upgrades. It is a sensible way to bring older wiring up to scratch while preparing the property for future use.

Smoke Alarm Installation

Smoke alarms need more than a fresh battery and crossed fingers. A licensed electrician can install, replace and test hardwired smoke alarms, check positioning and confirm that the electrical connections are working as intended. For Botany homes across Sydney, we can also inspect existing alarms when other electrical work is being completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

As your 24-hour emergency electrician in Botany, I provide round-the-clock service with typical response times of 30-45 minutes. Based nearby in Chifley, I can respond quickly to emergencies throughout the suburb.
Botany features predominantly older homes from the 1950s-70s mixed with modern high-density developments, requiring specialised knowledge of both heritage electrical systems and contemporary installation techniques. I understand the unique electrical infrastructure and common issues in local homes and businesses.
Absolutely. All electrical work in NSW must be performed by a licensed electrician. DIY electrical work is illegal and dangerous. I hold Licence No. 284476C and ensure all work complies with Australian standards and local regulations.
Switchboard upgrade costs vary depending on the size of your property and the complexity of the installation. Basic residential switchboard upgrades typically start around $1,500-2,500, but I always provide free, no-obligation quotes tailored to your specific requirements.
My comprehensive electrical safety inspections include checking all switchboards, safety switches, wiring condition, power points, lighting circuits, and earthing systems. I test safety switches, assess electrical load capacity, and provide a detailed report with recommendations for any required upgrades.
Yes, I regularly work on heritage properties in Botany, particularly around the Sir Joseph Banks area. Heritage electrical work requires special care to preserve original features while implementing modern safety systems. I ensure all upgrades respect the property’s character while meeting current electrical standards.
I recommend electrical safety inspections every 5 years for residential properties and every 2 years for commercial properties. Older homes (pre-1980) in the suburb should have more frequent inspections, especially if experiencing electrical issues like flickering lights or tripping circuits.
Most standard electrical work doesn’t require separate permits beyond the electrical compliance certificate I provide after completion. However, major electrical work like complete rewiring may require building approval. I handle all necessary paperwork and ensure compliance with Bayside Council requirements.
Yes, all my electrical work comes with appropriate warranties covering both workmanship and materials. I also provide electrical compliance certificates as required by NSW regulations, which are important for insurance purposes and property sales.
I’ll arrive on time in my marked vehicle, assess your electrical issue, explain what needs to be done, and provide upfront pricing before starting work. I carry comprehensive insurance, use quality materials, and always clean up after completing the job.

Not quite the harbour
Sydney needed

When Governor Phillip arrived in 1788, he actually found Botany Bay too shallow in many places for a proper harbour, which is why the First Fleet moved on and settled at Sydney Cove instead.

industrial icon

Sydney's "backyard vegetable garden" turned industrial hub

For much of the 19th century Botany was known for fishing and market gardening, but its isolation and cheap, flat land with plentiful water made it a magnet for "noxious trades" (tanneries, wool-scours, boiling-down works) pushed out of Sydney by the Noxious Trades Act of 1848 — setting the stage for its industrial character today, alongside Port Botany and Sydney Airport nearby.

I have no idea how, but Steve was able to route a new circuit through the ceiling cavity from one end of a Sydney terrace to the other without any significant reworks inside (just a small inspection hole). Quality stuff, on time, frank and prompt service, and saved me hundreds in not having to replaster the ceiling. Thanks Steve!
